While investigating events that profoundly altered the landscape of the Sahara in Southern Morocco, the filmmaker found himself faced with a silent environment: haunted by its complex socio-political history. As an alternative, he then decided to focus on the organic life that inhabit the desert to reconstruct people’s amnesia.

This film series is rooted in portraits of human figures and their silences. These men, from different generations, living in different regions of the Sahara, having different life paths and having made different choices, finally find themselves in parallel situations of exile, silence, waiting, need for reparation. The stories of these individuals are attached to the land, the winds, the stone. They invite us to pay attention to these elements to listen to what they could tell us about the traumas of the Sahara.
